Sugaring NYC
New Jersey

Sugaring had became a beauty phenomenon in New Jersey because it is a relatively painless, affordable, and long-lasting hair removal method. Forget about shaving or regular waxing that causes irritation, ingrown hairs, and razor bumps. Waxing removes live skin cells alongside dead skin cells and unwanted hair, causing unnecessary pain and irritation. You can visibly see the damage from waxing to the skin.

On the opposite side – Sugar waxing leads to a smooth, silky skin immediately after the appointment. We guarantee, – once you try Sugaring in one of our New Jersey locations – you will never go back to regular waxing.

Regular Brazilian Waxing
vs Sugaring

  • Sugaring uses only natural ingredients. The preparation is 100% natural, containing only water and sugar, with no chemicals, fragrances or coloring. It is hypoallergenic, causing no skin irritation. It is so natural that a sweet-toothed person can even eat it! Waxing is made of resins and often toxic chemicals as well. These ingredients are often irritating, if not toxic, to the skin.
  • Sugaring paste is applied at body temperature and will not burn your skin. Hot wax must be heated to a high temperature in order to become liquified, which can cause burning and scarring.
  • Sugar paste can be cleaned up easily with water. You will never leave a sugaring treatment feeling sticky. Since wax contains resins, chemical solvents are required to remove its residue.

Best Sugaring in New Jersey

Sugar cannot adhere to live skin cells. This means less discomfort for you and less trauma to your skin. Sugaring does remove dead skin cells – so as the hair is removed, your skin is also getting exfoliated! Wax has been known to remove more than just the hair, since it can adhere directly to live skin cells, which makes waxing more painful and irritating. Wax cannot be applied to an area more than twice at the most.

Sugaring paste is naturally hypoallergenic

Sugaring Paste is hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic. Sugar naturally helps control cross-contamination and bacteria cannot breed in the tub of sugar. Cross-contamination in a waxing room is always a danger, especially since bacteria will breed inside a tub of wax.

Commonly Asked
Questions

What is the difference between Bikini and Brazilian?

There are three different types of pubic hair removal;

  • Bikini – the sides! Cleaning up the outside lines of where a bathing suit or
underwear line sits. Includes one strip off of the top if desired.
  • Full Bikini – the sides and as much as you want off the top! This is for
those looking for something in between a Bikini and Brazilian.
  • Brazilian – everything front and back. Includes sides, top, labia, and butt
    strip.
I’ve never done Sugaring before. What is it?

Sugar paste is applied with a gloved hand in the opposite direction of hair growth.
Then it is flicked off in the direction of hair growth, meaning it does not break the hair
backward leaving you with smooth, hairless skin. The paste itself is 100% organic and
made of just sugar, lemon, and water and applied at body temperature so there is no
risk of burning. Did we mention no sticks or strips?

The best part of sugaring is that regular treatments lead to reduced hair growth and
discomfort. Thinner, lighter, sparser hair while being eco-friendly and totally trendy!

What is Sugaring Paste? Is it safe?

Sugar paste is a unique 100% organic product made of sugar, lemon juice, and
water (that’s it). So natural and non-toxic that you can even eat it like candy. You really
can! The paste is water soluble which means it can be removed easily with warm water.
No smell, no artificial colors, no toxins, no resins, just three simple ingredients.

How should I prepare for a Sugaring appointment?

Shaving stimulates potential hair growth and can strengthen the hair follicle. Shaving also cuts the hair at the hair shaft, which not only re-grows with a stubbly feel, but it can leave you feeling itchy. Additionally, shaving allows the hair to re-grow the next day or in some cases the same day.

Does Sugaring hurt? Is it as bad as waxing?

Exfoliate the area 24 hours prior to sugaring using circular motions. Don’t have an
exfoliator? Stop by to grab an organic scrub. Drink lots of water on the day of your
appointment and avoid any lotions, serums, or deodorant.

How often should I get Sugared?

We generally recommend getting sugared once every three weeks at the start of
your sugaring journey. This allows your esthetician to remove the hair early in its growth
cycle and have the best chance of thinning or even permanent hair reduction.
Depending on your skin and hair type, it can be 4-6 weeks thereafter. The general rule
is – the more often you do it, the thinner and less visible your hair becomes. Ask your
esthetician about your skin type to help determine how often you should get sugared.

How long does my hair have to be?

We recommend your hair to be from 1/4′′ long (or the length of a grain of rice).
Skilled professionals from Sugaring NYC can work with many hair lengths and will keep
you informed about your treatment throughout your appointment.
If you have been shaving prior to sugaring, try giving yourself ten days without removing
the hair before booking your appointment for the smoothest result.

Why not shave?

Shaving removes the hair at the shaft or skin’s surface level, which not only
re-grows with a stubbly feel but can leave you feeling itchy and uncomfortable. Razors
often harbor bacteria which can lead to irritations or infections. All of that trouble for hair
to regrow in a day or two and to have to start the process all over again.

Does Sugaring hurt? Is it as bad as waxing?

The vast majority of clients report their sugaring experiences to be less painful
than waxing. Remember, sugar paste does not adhere to live skin cells so there is no
skin pulling, and hair is removed in the same direction as it grows. Skin redness
disappears much faster as there is less trauma to the skin. Once you begin sugaring
regularly, your hair will become lighter and thinner resulting in an even less
uncomfortable experience. Try our numbing spray on your first visit!

Where are you located? How do I make an appointment?

I started my period. Can I still get Sugared?

Yes, we just ask that you wear a tampon during your service. Your body may be more or
less sensitive than normal during this time of the month. Try adding numbing spray to
your appointment if you are unsure!

Do you accept walk-ins?

Absolutely! However, it is recommended that you make a reservation to guarantee your
service time in the event the store is fully booked.

Moisturize daily using natural products with no additives, preservatives or artificial fragrances.

I am pregnant! Can I still make an appointment?

Congratulations! Yes! Sugaring services are safe for women throughout pregnancy.
Please note, you may be more sensitive than normal due to hormonal changes but we
will do our best to keep you as comfortable as possible.

What is your Cancellation policy?

Please contact your local Sugaring NYC for a complete list of cancellation, no-show and
late policies.

What do I need to know for Aftercare?

Pores will be open for about 24 hours after your sugaring service and will be
more susceptible to bacteria. Avoid tanning, hot showers, friction, tight clothing,
exercise/sweat, and open water for 24 hours.
Aftercare is important to maintain results! Exfoliate using a Sugaring NYC
organic scrub 48 hours after treatment. Use circular motions to remove dead skin cells,
bacteria/dirt/build-up every 2-3 days. This helps keep hair growing up and away from
the skin reducing ingrown hairs. Hydrate as needed with Sugaring NYC Healing
Chamomile Oil.

Is there anywhere I cannot sugar?

Just a few; scalp, beard, ears, and nostrils. Everywhere else, we can take care of it!

What other services do you offer?

Lash Lift and Tint – Lifts your natural lashes from root to tip giving you the effect
of using an eyelash curler without actually having to use one! The tint is included to
make the lashes appear darker and longer. Lasts 6-8 weeks (depending on your lash’s
growth cycle).

Brow Lamination – Softens eyebrow hairs and straightens them for fuller and
more manageable brows. Can be bold and fluffy or soft and tamed. Lasts up to 4
weeks.

V-Facial – a facial for your bikini area to reduce ingrown hairs and calm the skin.
Performed immediately after sugaring hair removal. Short on time? Try these add-ons
individually; extractions, chemical peel, jelly mask, and high frequency.

What are the contraindications of Sugaring?

While Sugaring is generally safe, there are a few circumstances/candidates who should
avoid sugaring. Do not sugar if you;
-Have been on Accutane in the last nine months
-Current sunburn or open wounds/sore/rash/cut
-Cosmetic Injectables or permanent makeup in the last six weeks
-Given birth in the last six weeks
-Antibiotics or other medications that cause skin thinning or photo-sensitivity (please

Specialist: LizIt was my first time getting a sugaring session in a lonnnnnng time. The last time I tried something new, with chocolate wax and it didn’t go well. I told Liz all of this and she certainly understood and took her time. She made sure I was breathing deeply and paced everything well. I asked her to take a break and she helped distract me and get back to it. Left there feeling soft and smooth as butta! 😊
