What is sugaring? 🤔 Believe it or not, this question is frequently asked. Whether you just stumbled across our IG for the first time or you want a refresher on the sugaring removal process, here’s the 411.⠀
⠀
Sugaring has been around since ancient Egyptian and Grecian times. It is a hair removal method that uses a sticky, gel-like paste to remove hair. “The paste—which is made of lemon 🍋, sugar🍯, and water💦—is safe, natural, and uses no chemical additives,” says our lovely chief aesthetician Andrea. “It’s applied to any area that has unwanted hair and is then removed in the direction of the hair growth.” What’s more, Andrea notes that sugaring doesn’t stick to the top layer of skin. It doesn’t pull at live skin cells (unlike waxing, which breaks the hair that resembles an onion), making it especially effective for ingrown or curly hair.
Pre-Sugaring, absolutely nothing is required of you. But, really!! As long as your hair is 1/8 inch long, you’ll be good to go. 🚀 No exfoliating or trimming is required.
Just be sure to avoid any strenuous activity (gym, sex, pool) on the day of your Sugaring appointment.
Beyond leaving you with silky smooth legs, sugaring is also a form of exfoliation. Yup! It’s true. Dead skin cells begone! 🙅🏻 When sugaring, the sugar paste adheres to both hair and dead skin cells (but never living skin) for the ultimate spa treatment
