Sugaring?
Sugaring is a relatively painless, affordable, and long-lasting Brazilian hair removal method. Say goodbye to the irritation, ingrown hairs, and razor bumps caused by shaving or regular waxing – waxing removes live skin cells alongside dead skin cells and unwanted hair, causing unnecessary pain and irritation. The skin damage caused by waxing is clearly visible under a Wood’s lamp. The reason why waxing became so popular is that it requires far less skill…you can be very unskilled and still remove hair because the wax will rip off (or at least break) the hair.

Sugaring is more hygienic, lasts longer (usually up to 4 weeks) and can be less painful if done regularly. Sugaring doesn’t cause ingrown hairs…it can actually correct them! In addition, sugaring is a natural exfoliating treatment for the skin and can lead to permanent reduction of hair growth.
Sugaring NYC Sugar Paste gets rid of unwanted body hair and at the same time gently exfoliates the skin. This helps to get rid of dead skin cells. Sugar paste, unlike wax, does not stick to live/active skin cells because it is a water-soluble substance and active skin cells are wet, therefore optimizing the condition of the skin. Sugar paste is so gentle it can remove the fine hair on women’s faces and is safe for clients with sensitive skin, eczema, or psoriasis.
Sugar paste can also be used on much shorter hair length. Sugaring NYC recommends the hair length to be at least the size of a grain of rice (1/8 inch). This allows you to get your sugar waxing appointment practically at any time, even after you shaved 10-14 days ago, as long as your hair is at least 1/8 of an inch (or 4mm) long (don’t ever shave, please..seriously…don’t). On top of this sugar paste dissolves easily with water leaving no sticky residue on the skin after the appointment.

Sensitive Skin
If you have very sensitive skin, the type that can become irritated by the slightest touch, sugaring is almost definitely the best option for you. Not only is sugaring a more gentle, 100% organic way to remove hair, there is generally less redness and irritation associated with it, making it great for people who might have sensitive skin or allergy-prone skin.
Moreover, regular wax is heated to an extremely high temperature, and it can absolutely burn the skin, especially in sensitive areas. Sugaring is a more gentle method of hair removal because the paste does not adhere to the skin—it only attaches to the hair. This minimizes the amount of irritation to the area and pain during the process. The sugar paste is also more malleable than hard wax, which allows it to get all the way down to the root. This makes it less likely to break hair at the surface.
Our sugaring technique extracts the hair in the direction of hair growth. This means less trauma on the hair, less chance of breakage and therefore minimising the chance of ingrown hairs.

I scheduled an appointment for Friday and and got so lucky that there was an available spot. (Most places are booked Fri-Sun) . I was so impressed that they were able to take me last minute upon my appointment I received confirmation and after that I received a follow up call the next day, letting me know that I’m able to come in earlier than my schedule time which worked out perfectly. Upon arriving, I did have a bit of a direction issue, but I was called and reassured that I was in the right location upon walking to the studio. Everything looks beautiful! If you are a girly girl like me you’ll love the pink theme!!! It’s very sweet and gorgeous; a real dollhouse! Tish was the sugarista who took care of me and she did a wonderful job. She was patient kind and very skilled in her work. I had booked a full Brazilian wax (sugar ) and a vagacial. Not new to sugaring but maybe my 3 or 4th vagacial and she did amazing. Top tier. She took her time with the extraction process which was painful yet she did her best to make it comfortable and as quick as possible! The music was great too just overall an amazing experience! It was my first time getting a Brazilian, I’m male. They offered 50% off for first time clients. The person who did mine was really good at making it comfortable for me even though it’s a rather invasive procedure. She has been doing sugaring for over a year now, but has done waxing in the past. I took two ibuprofen before hand and the pain was quite tolerable. Thought it went well and will return when in the area
